Whilst I take all reasonable efforts to ensure that all images and descriptions of the collections available from Beverley Sommerville Ceramics are a true representation of the work, please note – Images of work are for illustrative purposes only and may vary from the actual piece, due to print or paper quality and or differences in computer displays.
Please remember that every piece of ceramic is individually hand thrown and lovingly crafted, and as such there will be variations in size, finish, form, and colour as these are indicative of the materials used and the handmade processes. Everything is made by hand and will show the marks of their making, so please bear this in mind.
Beverley Sommerville Ceramics ensures that all work made for a particular purpose are fit for the specific purpose and comply with all relevant legislation and regulations.
From time-to-time minor changes may need to be made to a collection, to address technical issues or comply with regulatory requirements, any such changes would not alter the main character of the work. However, if these changes did affect the overall character or use of the piece then information would be provided to you.
The Collections:
no matter – Strata Collection
This collection is hand thrown porcelain with a clear food safe glaze and freehand inscribed surface decoration, there are both functional and decorative aspects.
We recommend that you care for your ceramics by handwashing only and not place them within a microwave or dishwasher as this would shorten their lifespan. Pieces that use cork, leather or wood should be kept dry. Please be aware that the lanterns with cork handles should only be lit when the handle is in the down position.
matter - Collections
The matter collections are one-off artistic forms, made with material inclusions and gathered materials, hand thrown in porcelain, they have a clear waterproof glaze. They are decorative and artistic in nature and so not recommended for food use. We recommend that you care for your ceramics by wiping with a slightly damp cloth only.
